SiteCake is web page editor great for editing just one page or your personal website, small business website or static parts of complex corporate website. It can be mounted on any HTML website or part of the website. We made it easy for administrator to install it and editor to use it.


Simple Editing

Many times we had problems with clients not able to understand or remember long enough how to maintain their websites using complex CMS backends. To make their and our life easier we developed SiteCake with only basic editing capabilities without backend interface. During editing of the page only relevant UI elements and actions are displayed, the rest in not visible in order not to confuse the user.

Fast Editing

Annoyed by websites that need to consult server for even smallest action we built SiteCake to work on client side and communicate with the server in background. The editing process is smooth and not interrupted by frequent in-progress/working/saving messages.

Fast Initialization

SiteCake has small footprint (less than 200Kb in total) and short time needed to switch a page into editing mode (few seconds on regular DSL). For user that means once he wants to start edit the page SiteCake is already there.

True WYSIWYG

Governed by the output is input rule we made page editing in SiteCake as close as possible to desktop text editing, which means you edit text where you read it. Just like on paper (but better!).

Easy Integration In Your Site

Any valid HTML document augmented by the appropriate class attribute markups (e.g. class="sc_content_container-containerName") can act as a template for editing with SiteCake. After modifying your HTML just upload SiteCake folder and new .httacces to your site root. Read details about installation here. And if you want to switch to another template - simply do it. Keeping existing container names in the markups will keep your existing content in the new template.

Don't Need Database

All content you created and edited on your pages are written into files which means that you don't need to have database on your hosting. This also means that you can move your site from hosting to hosting, or folder to folder simply by copying.

Unlimited Undo/Redo

Undo is implemented on the client side. It has unlimited number of steps and is very fast. That gives you freedom to be creative and try new things when editing site because reverting to previous state is just a click away.

Search Engine Friendly

Pages are rendered as a pure and valid HTML, thus the site content can be indexed by Internet search engines.
